St Martin’s Sunday Club Newsletter January 2019

Happy New Year! We hope you all had a happy, relaxing Christmass.

Firstly, thank you to everyone who took part in the Nativity where we once again heard the Christmass story through the eyes of the grumpy innkeeper.

Just as we did last year, we combined our only Nativity rehearsal with a Christmass lunch. This was enjoyed by everyone. Thank you also to all those who helped out at the Crib Service on Christmass Eve.

With the start of the New Year, it is time for parents/carers to renew their child’s registration form. These forms must be completed as soon as possible to keep us in line with Safe Guarding requirements.

Duringing our recent Sunday Club meeting, we discussed our concern and disappointment at the falling number of children coming along to Sunday Club. As a result of this the KS1 session will be changed as follows:

All children meet in Church for a 10am start. After the gospel reading KS1 children will go to the church hall for a child friendly session of teaching. This session will also include music or a game and will last 15-20 minutes. At the end of that time, all children will return to Church and will be encouraged to sit at the designated tables to do colouring activities or play on the mat area with toys which will be made available.

We will review this change at our next meeting after Easter.
